Financial Literacy with Rachel

Today we did some Financial Literacy with Rachel she talked about reliable people and that she brought some stuff with her she asked us to raise a hand if you would trust a stranger or classmates with these things: Pencil, DVD, $5, Cellphone. After that she had a skit to do she asked for four volunteers to go up she pair them in to each had to get a positive skit or a negative skit after that they did the skit then explained how it went well for the first skit because the person didn't have the amount of money so she asked the person next to her if he could lend her $5 dollars and she will pay it back as soon as possible. Then skit two which was the negative a person who borrows the DVD and the owner asks for the DVD to return but then the person who asked for the DVD didn't finish watching it so she asked if she could return it tomorrow but the next day when she returned it the owner received the DVD with scratches. After they had did the skit Rachel had some worksheet for us to do as we were coming to the finish then she explained one more time to be wise with your money.

Maths Reflection

Maths Problem:
From Auckland to Waitangi is 229 kilometers. We left Auckland at 9.39 am and arrived at Waitangi at 3.31 pm. Remember we also made three stops before we arrived at Waitangi. How do the stops we made affect the travel time? What is your estimate for the average speed the bus was travelling? If the average speed of the bus is 80 km/h, what time would we have arrived at Waitangi if we didn't make any stops?

Today we had Maths and for maths we only solved What is your estimate for the average speed the bus was traveling? this was part of the question and it was a bit challenging for me because I didn't quite understand the problem but I got help from Mr Greenwood and I am thankful for that because I would have been stuck on that question but I solved that problem and now I can move on to the next part of the question. I had fun solving this because my group worked as a team and solved it.

Car Wash

It was a divine sunny morning on Saturday as we had to attend the Car Wash Fundraiser at school at 7:30 am to get ready and starts at 9:00 am and finishes at 1:00 pm. We were fundraising for our Year 7 and 8 History Camp at Waitangi a lot of cars came today to Glenbrae School. A lot of Teachers and teacher aide came to help join in with the cooking and with the sausage sizzles. We were split up into teams when a car entered the school four people had to go and wash that car the reason why it was four people because one was washing the front of the car and one at the back and the two others at the sides of the car.

While we waited for the other cars to come we were offered free sausage sizzles by the Teacher aide from the BBQ we had to eat in a hurry because the cars started to come in ready for a wash when they parked their car we were well equipped with bucket filled with soapy water and a sponge. We cleaned and cleaned customers who came in to get their car washed would be accompanied with delicious and nice cakes or cupcakes or some BBQ (Sausage Sizzles and Chopsui and Potato salad).

Each customers were very happy and delighted with their cleaned cars as they left School then we had a rest while the other groups of people go and wash the other cars. While we waited we started playing then a lot of cars suddenly came in and we were they as fast as we could to wash them and clean them. At the end of the day we raised $910.60 dollars and we cleaned up and pack all the stuffs away and went home tired.Image result for carwashImage result for carwash
