World War 1 Report Writing.

Assassination of Franz Ferdinand.
World War 1 started because of the assassinations of a man called Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie , the archduke of Austria-Hungary. On June 28 1914 Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary was assassinated in Sarajevo. The Austrian government believed that the assassinated was organized by Serbian government. They also saw this as an opportunity to regain control of Serbia. Because everybody was allied with each other.

Europe ready for War.
In 1914 the situation in Europe was tense. Secret alliances, internal politics and the desire to grow empires had built up distrust and dislike between many of the European powers. All it would take was one international event and Europe would be at War.

Austria-Hungary Declares War.
Austria-Hungary issued a number of harsh demands on Serbia, threatening to invade if Serbia did not comply. They gave them 48 hours to respond. When Serbia’s response fell short of the demands, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia on July 28th 1914.

Early Traders Northland.

When the first Pakeha came to New Zealand some Pakeha wanted land and some of the Maori’s looked at how the Pakeha was dressed and the equipment's that they had like iron materials, muskets, clothes, blankets,   tobacco, and alcohol since the Maoris didn't have those things.

The Maori’s were in need of new equipment from the new settlers the pakeha. They wanted to trade with the pakehas in order to get what they want. They used the missionary to translate to the pakeha people so they would understand what they are in need. The Maori’s gave them Maori slaves and the pakeha traded with them by giving them Muskets and ironing tools.

When the Maoris agreed to hand over some land and slaves to the pakehas the pakehas gave them what the Maoris wanted and when the pakehas got some of their land they mark it by putting up the British flag on the flagpole. On the 8 of July 1844 a chief (War Leader) from a tribe chopped down a flagpole which was marked part of their land.

The Pakeha got really angry at Hone Heke that the Pakeha declared war on the Maoris but one thing the Maoris didn't know is that the British had more advantage because they had guns, cannons, and swords.

Science with Mr Malhotra

Today for science we went to Tamaki College to learn the different types of chemicals and what to wear when you are in a laboratory and Electronics.First Mr Malhotra introduced himself to us and the other two teachers who were Ms Graaf and Ms Caw first we had a look at the microscope we looked at Dragonfly larvae's, Onion Skin, Cockroaches, and Little Sea Creatures. Then we got to go around and touch and play with the toys Mr Malhotra put out for us. Then we were given little trays in side them had two chemicals one was hydrogen ox-side and a liquid.

First we meet a new science teacher and she demonstrate it to us and show us how it is really important to follow instruction and show us step by step how to do it when she finished showing us she told us to be careful and did the experiment. When we were done we watched how the chemicals formed together and reacted then Ms Bunce  told us if we were done we then go and watched our hands then we sat down and Mr Malhotra asked for a volunteer to help him with his helicopter drone. Levi F got up and try and flew it and then it came to an end of the lesson and Brandon got up and thanked Mr Malhotra and the other two teachers that was there today.
