Basketball Reflections.



For the past few weeks Room 10 Basketball I learnt how to Overpass, Travel, Chest Pass, Bounce Pass, and the rules of with Coach Steph and with Coach Yeron in Basketball the most difficult thing in basketball was doing all the tricks and what I like the most was playing games and warming up I really relished doing Basketball and all the stuff.

Tamaki College Work.

At Tamaki College we had Technologies with our teacher was Mr Roberts.

Explanation: Socially Responsible Person.

To be a socially responsible person in our community you have to look after everyone in your community and treat them the way that you want to be treated. Also to be a socially responsible person in the community by being kind and show them good manners. Secondly show them leadership and help others whenever they need help and respect them.

A socially responsible person owns up to it’s mistakes and makes positive choices. He/She helps others to achieve a common goal, the leader shall be a good role model around the youngsters.A Socially Responsible Person would donate some of their belongings to someone who desperately needs it.

Our Tremendous trip to Long Bay.

On Monday the 7th of April 2014 we went to Long Bay which was in North Shore It was part of our Learning program and part of our Inquiry it was a privilege to go their to learn lot’s about stuff it took us about 1 hour to get us from school to Long bay.Then we made a destination and  arrived to LONG BAY then Mrs Parker’s Groups went off the bus first while we were getting off the bus we thank the bus driver and out we went then the mentor Sarah came to us and took us to met all the mentor’s Morag, James,  that’s gonna be taking us through heaps of activities then when we got to this house where our bags can be safe their. My group which was Mrs Parker’s group went off to do the first activities with our extraordinary mentor was putting up tent’s and which would be a safe and good condition places and why we elected it then she talked and ask questions for us to answer then meanwhile we all ran off in our pairs my partners were Anamanu, Voni and Nikita.

We chose under a medium place to set our tents up then we got in to it building the tent’s then no long we got it done before the other’s then we went inside for a meanwhile we packed it up again and putting it in our tent bag. Then we went back to give back the tent bag’s then for our next activities were cooking sausages with the mini pans and mini stove’s then she showed us how to turn on them and cooking them and putting out the fire and how to have another person holding and the end of the pan.Then we got into cooking our mentor’s lit the fire for us and having our teacher putting the oil into them and putting the sausages in the pan then me and my partner James F took turn cooking them then while the were cooking we waited for not that long then it started sizzling and we know it was time for it to be over them i took the pan off the mini stove and James F putted out the fire. Then we started eating it it was cook perfectly for me and James then moved on to the next activity.

The Next activities were What Thing You Take with you and Not Take With You On A Hike the the mentor’s their Morag had a relay in this really was the things that we really need to take with us on a Hike or Camping then the things were in a box.Then Morag put us in pairs there was group one, group two, group three, and finally group four I was in group four it was Me, Jack, Brandon there was a list there in the box for what’s the right thing we should bring with us then we gazed at it and each person from each team had to run and grab each item from the box.Brandon ran and got the backpack first then Jack went secondly to grab the lunch box then I went to get the raincoat then it kept going and going and then it stop and moved on to the stretchers where we had jumpers as part of our stretchers and four enormous sticks.We worked in teams to put the jumper on the sticks then we tried it on with Brandon go inside pretending he has a broken leg then we bend our knees and lifted him up gently.

When we lifted him up and walk to the other side then back to where we started then it was Jack turn we lifted him up for a while and putting him down then Anamanu had a go then came Voni’s turn and then Moli and then came Me.Ensuing we had lunch half an hour then we went to our next activities our last activities was with James the bush walk we sat under a tree and plan what place we had about an hour to go to the place where we want to go.Then Hannah who was the ladder and Brandon the Charlie tale the person who make’s sure we are ready and in line then we went past the beach and into a forest with heaps of trees and bushes then we went up the steps then up an driveway and into a farm. Then we walked all the way across a farm then came to an end then down into a forest and we saw the view from here it was fascinating to watch from all the way up the farm and  catch phrase the Rangitoto Island then it was time to go back then after we started walking still hot and puffing for a drink of water.Then when we got their we took a picture with all of us in it and then went for a drink then went back then when we got their we got our bags and settled down in line and waited for the teachers to eat their sausages then Morag, Sarah, James,. Explained how FABULOUS we behaved and then Eseki thanked the Rangers and then we waited for the bus to get their then we went at the End I Felt Joyous.

Year 7&8's Trip to the Zoo.

On Friday 4th of April 2014 we went on a euphoric tip to the AUCKLAND ZOO when we arrived to the Auckland Zoo we waited in the bus for Mrs Raj then when we got out of the bus and thank the driver and waited for the instructor to introduce themselves then they took us inside the Zoo. While we were inside she took us into a house then we talked about native bird’s and stuff then we went to where the Grand skink and Otago skink then we talked about how the breede and how they move how they are nocturnal and move quicker.


After John talked to us we looked and the skink only two skinks came out and the other one the otago skink was hiding behind the grass and because it was hard to look around because they were camouflaging behind the grass then we moved on to where the kea’s locations. The we walked where the kea’s habitat is we walked all the way past a bridge and we when we got there John then explained to us how the kea unwrap things quickly then he told us to keep still when we see a kea then we went inside. It was hard to spot them because some of them blended it with the trees and bushes I only spotted three kea’s then for a meanwhile John explained how the kea’s a closed to extinctions and how they're predators hunt them at the day time.


Then individually moved on to where the kereru, kakariki bird and the tui on this tour we had Laura the instructor took us inside to the kereru, kakariki bird, and tui’s locations is then we made our way up to a house to get closer to contemplate at the kereru and the tui. Then we impenetrable The Night Closer where the kiwi’s lived it was hard to spot them because they were on the back but we had to make our way to the exit it was hard to see in there because it was so dark then we moved on to where the prodigious eel’s where Richard the mentor told us how the eel’s swim all the way to Tonga to lay their eggs there and swim all the way back to New Zealand. Then the baby eel’s swim all the way back to their parents in New Zealand then we went back to the house where we all met the other’s then there we all went in group’s I was in Mrs Parker’s group where went off first.


Then we went to have our Morning Tea then after that we went to the turtle and took photographs and talked about them then the next animal was the american alligator they’re about 5 of them and took pictures and the animals we all see was Ottar, Red Panda, Bamboss, Orangutans, Elephants, Rhinos, Ostrich, Meerkats, Zebra’s, Cheetah, Seals, Spider Monkeys, Flamingos, Ringtail Lemurs, Lions those were all the animals we saw and the Auckland Zoo and we all came back to where we met before and Eseki Thank the Zoo Keepers and lined up and waited outside of the Zoo and waited for the bus to come by the end of the day i felt thrilled all the way back to School.

Visitors Visiting Glenbrae School.

On Tuesday the 1st of April we had visitors from different kind of school and Mrs Elia already got all the tour-guide sorted and ready. Then in the morning me and my class all lined up and ready for basketball but then Mrs Elia announced for the tour guide to come down to Room 3 to met the Special visitors then Mrs Elia asked all of us to introduce our self to them.


Then we sat down and getting them to know us and how we use netbook’s in Glenbrae School and how it is a Digital school.Then we asked them heaps and heaps of questions about them and after that they introduce them self to us and after Mrs Elia told us what class we should be going to and observing on how we use netbook. Then my visitor Sharon went to observe Room 9 and went to keti to ask her how we used our netbook and Keti showing Sharon how they use the netbook’s and getting on to their site.


Then after Sharon observed Keti then Mrs Raj showed Room 10’s site our class site she talked about the Maths Groups, Reading Group, Writing Groups and our Inquiry Groups. And she also talked about how we are being a cyber-smart class and talk more and more and then she finished talking then I took Sharon to my class to observe and looked at our inquiry topic study about the bush. She talked with Mrs Parker and introduced herself to Sharon and Sharon introducing herself to Mrs Parker then Mrs Elia announced on the speaker to the tour guide to bring back the visitor and bringing them back to the Staffroom for their lunch.

It was "COOL" to get to be a Tour guide.

My Information Report about Redback Spiders.

Last week we had to do a Information Report about animals that are near extinctions and could still be alive on my Report I'm doing one about the Red back Spider is the 2nd world's most poisonous spiders in the world and are close extinctions that's why I choose this animal for me to study because it looked interesting to me for my study.

The Wishing Stone.

Today at Sunshine Online I read a Non-Fiction book called The Wishing Stone Its about when a boy name Johnny joined a Football team and acting weird when he is about to find something called a wishing stone.

 And then after school Johnny and his friend Sam were walking home from school then Johnny suddenly found something it was a sparking stone then Johnny picked it up and put it in his backpack.

Then when Johnny got home he then went to his room and closed the door and then unzipped his backpack and looked at the stone weird and put it back in his backpack and going downstairs to have Dinner with his family.
